Every seller asks the same question: where do I actually advertise my horse? There are dozens of European sales sites, they all promise buyers, and the pricing is deliberately confusing. We list horses on these portals ourselves, so this guide is based on what we paid, what we saw and where the enquiries actually came from. All prices were checked in September 2026. Start with ehorses, and watch the pre-ticked box<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ehorses is the default European marketplace. A basic advert is free, stays up for months and puts your horse in front of the biggest buyer audience there is. There is no sensible reason to skip it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two things catch sellers out. First, the Platinum advert at 99.99 \u20ac is already ticked<\/strong> when you fill in the form. Gold and Silver are not. If you do not untick it, you will be asked to pay at the end. Second, on the way to saving your advert you pass two upsell screens. Neither of them has an obvious “no thanks” button; the one you want is “Save modifications”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is Platinum worth 99.99 \u20ac? For a horse in the 5,000 to 15,000 \u20ac range, no. For a horse above 30,000 \u20ac, the extra visibility can pay for itself in a single enquiry, but only if your photos and video are good enough to survive being seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equirodi: free, but “international” is the paid part<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Equirodi runs seven country sites \u2014 France, the UK, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy \u2014 on one shared database. It is often described as free European coverage. It is not quite that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The basic advert is genuinely free for a private seller, 90 days, renewable. But international distribution is a 14.99 \u20ac add-on, and it is listed as a feature of the paid Prestige and Premium packages. The free advert shows in the country you posted from. Prestige at 69.99 \u20ac is pre-selected<\/strong> in the package list, exactly like ehorses Platinum, so change it back to Basic yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two practical notes: the advert title is capped at 55 characters, so write it as a headline, not a sentence. And a phone number is not compulsory, which matters if you would rather handle everything by email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

pferde.de is disappearing into ehorses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

pferde.de is free and takes about three minutes, but it is much smaller than its name suggests: roughly 1,200 adverts in total, against more than 17,000 jumping horses on ehorses. From 1 October 2026 its listings move into ehorses, so if you advertise on both you may end up with the same horse twice on the same platform. Check your adverts in October and remove the duplicate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One more thing to expect: the site opens with a consent wall that asks you to accept 336 advertising partners or pay 3.99 \u20ac a month. You can decline, but you have to hunt for the option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national sites that are worth paying for<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pay for a national portal when your horse is in<\/em> that country, or when that country’s buyers are your target market. Buyers travel, but they start with what is near them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
